About Made

Made is a digital agency for organizations that bring people together—performing arts, museums, cultural institutions. We started in Birmingham, England in 2002, and since 2010 we’ve worked in arts and culture exclusively. Today we’re about 45 people, working from England, Scotland, Poland, and the United States.

What we do

We design and build websites, purchase paths, and the platforms underneath them, for places that sell tickets, take donations, and put on shows. We’re among the most experienced Tessitura web integrators in the world, with clients including the LA Phil, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Royal Albert Hall, and Melbourne Theatre Company.

What we do best is making complex things feel simple: a purchase path that survives your biggest on-sale, a calendar that reflects what’s actually on, a subscription renewal a patron can finish without calling the box office.

The plumbing isn’t the point, though. More people meet you on your website than in your building, and we design for that: pages that are beautiful, welcoming, and worth reading even when nobody’s buying anything.

In 2024 our redesign for the National Youth Theatre was a Webby honoree for best mobile user experience, alongside Netflix, Apple, and ESPN. In 2025 we received a King’s Award for Enterprise. We try not to make too much of awards, but we’re pleased with those two.

Our principles

Access and inclusion

We build websites that work for everyone. That means testing with real people who use assistive technologies daily, not simulating it ourselves.

It also means building a team that reflects the world we’re designing for. We review our hiring practices regularly, pay all interns, and support flexible working for parents and carers.
