Introducing our new Head of Strategy: Michaela Drapes

July 14, 2021

We're delighted to announce the appointment of our new Head of Strategy, Michaela Drapes, who will be joining the Made team in August.

Michaela will be joining us after almost a decade at New York City Ballet, where she was most recently Director of Digital Content and Development. Based out of New York City, she will connect with our clients around the world, and our global team, on a range of digital projects and products.

I couldn't be more thrilled to be joining the team at this critical time as organizations transition out of lockdowns and into reopening, welcoming patrons back to their venues

We worked with Michaela during 2019 and 2020 when we completed New York City Ballet’s website redesign, so we know she has the creativity, strategy and technical nous for the role – as well as the obvious industry knowledge – and we’re thrilled she has agreed to come on board.

Made Media CEO, James Baggaley, says, “I'm delighted that Michaela will be joining us in this new role at Made. Her extensive experience in using digital technology to engage audiences, both in the arts and other sectors, will be a huge asset to our growing US-based team, and to our clients. I'm excited to work with her to continue to develop Made's products and services for the arts and cultural sector.”

Michaela began her career in digital content in Austin, Texas at organisations as varied as the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas and business information publisher Hoover's (now called D&B Hoovers). After stints in as the digital editor in chief for consulting firm Booz & Co. (now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers/PwC) and the content management systems lead for an e-commerce startup, she joined New York City Ballet in 2012, where she is currently the Director of Digital Content and Development and is responsible for patrons' ticketing journey on the Ballet’s websites, as well as social media and digital editorial strategy for NYCB.

Michaela says, “I've long admired Made's work in the arts and culture sector and was pleased when I was able to work with the US and UK-based teams on the redesign of the New York City Ballet and David H Koch Theater websites. I couldn't be more thrilled to be joining the team at this critical time as organizations transition out of lockdowns and into reopening, welcoming patrons back to their venues.

“The road ahead is a challenging one, and I look forward to helping Made's clients navigate, succeed, and thrive in this new environment.”
